Job Coach – Term time working
- Supporting people with disabilities to work towards their goals and ultimately achieve/sustain paid employment
- 16 hours per week (Monday to Thursday) – some flexibility to work additional hours when required
- Some flexibility required as could include early starts, evenings and weekends
- Working across Greater Manchester
- £10.90 per hour

Main purpose of the Job:
- Support clients 1:1 on the job and to learn tasks/duties and core skills that are required
- Teamwork is essential as are effective communication skills
- Building strong relationships with partners and employers across Manchester
- Work with Managers and co-workers to educate on disability and individual support needs
Key Areas of responsibility
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
List all the main responsibilities
Liaise with Senior/Employment Officer and maintain all relevant paperwork
Recognise progression and ability to set new goals for clients
Assist with training plans and risk assessments for each person on placement
Be creative in problem solving and use initiative to overcome issues on placement
Inform Senior/ EO and/or Tutor if client is struggling on placement
To assist in completion of Route Assessments for Travel Training
Supporting people to learn how to travel independently
Take part in reviews and meetings where required
Assist in the creation of CV’s, personal profiles and interview technique
May be required to support in a classroom setting
May be required to support n a community setting
Basic admin/ keeping documentation up to date

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Job Coach
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Ability to support the Senior / Employment Officer to secure paid job outcomes for people
2. Able to assist people on placement to learn a job and become a valued team member
3. Willingness to travel train individuals from home or college to work and return
4. Willingness to support individuals and/or small groups in a classroom setting and on work placements
5. Experience of working with vulnerable people (e.g. children, people with a disability) – voluntary/ paid or unpaid
6. Understand the needs of people with a disability and the issues they face in the community particularly in regard to securing employment
7. Personal commitment and drive to assist people to become valued employees
8. Excellent communication skills to liaise with the Employer’s management team, colleagues/peers, the client and their families/carers
9. Ability to record accurate information
10. Support individuals with personal care and hygiene if required
11. You will be required to have a flexible approach to your hours of work and may include some evenings and weekends
12. To have an excellent attendance record and to meet the standard of attendance required and be punctual at all times
13. Commitment to further training and personal development
14. Be prepared to raise any concerns with management regarding discrimination on the grounds of age, race, sexuality, religion or belief, gender or disabilities
