Job Description
I am recruiting for an Economic Advisor with a telecoms business in London. You will:
- Generate economic analysis and evidence to support our regulatory and policy positions.
- Understand our company data, with the ability to deploy this effectively as evidence in support of our regulatory activity.
- Develop appropriate models and other analytical frameworks to support policy positions.
- Support any competition matters arising including litigation.
- Lead specific workstreams such as developing responses to Ofcom consultations.
- Represent the business at external meetings alongside other colleagues.
- Manage the data capture for a number of periodic formal information requests which Ofcom sends using its statutory powers.
- Be a key part of the team developing input to the next periodic Ofcom market review of fixed telecommunications.
The Successful Applicant
You will have:
- Economics qualification to at least degree level in economics or closely related discipline.
- Some demonstrated experience of applying economic analysis to regulatory and competition matters.
- Ability to contextualise economic analysis and provide practical solutions.
- Experience of model-building and other quantitative economic analytical processes.
- Strong communications skills, including ability to explain economic arguments to non-economist audiences.
