Genoa Fish & Chips Newry are recruiting for a Counter Assistant on a full time basis. This role is approx 30-40hrs per week including a mix of weekdays, evenings and weekends therefore it is NOT SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS so please do not apply. Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided, applicants must have excellent communication skills, be hardworking, fast learners and flexible to be able to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis as required.
Duties:
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Prepare and serve food and beverages
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area and dining space
- Assist with bussing tables and cleaning dishes
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
Requirements:
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Knowledge of retail math for inventory management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including a kitchen setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Note: Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
